I write to sing the praises of Julie Sheldrick. Julie became involve in my renovation at time when I needed expertise, sound ideas and a guiding hand. Because she was not involved from the beginning of my project and my budget was tight, there were no doubt challenges in taking on some one else's plans and time lines. She walked onto the job and on the first visit found herself selecting finishes, colours and 'massaging' my relationship with an enthusiastic but firm minded builder. It was the first of a number of occasions where I was in awe of Julie's grace, confidence and high level negotiation skills.
Julie advised me on my joinery, kitchen, colours, carpet and so much more. Without exaggeration every aspect works perfectly. I still smile every time I place a jumper into my wardrobe and it fits 'just so', ease a suitcase into the storage space and watch my children use their built in wardrobes. My laundry has a space for everything with not a wash basket in sight. But it is my kitchen that is the most amazing. I am an average cook but even I feel like a 'Master Chef' when I reach for my slide out drawers and watch my storage containers stack effortlessly in my pantry. The colours work so well and we feel content and happy in our home. I'm about to order the tiles for my pool and I know that will look great too. Without really knowing us Julie knew how things needed to work for a busy family and has created joinery and finishes that work seamlessly and look fabulous.
Julie also solved issues with details in the build. She corrected errors, tweaked design elements and brought excellent practical knowledge to the build. In doing so she provided sage counsel as to which elements were crucial and therefore needed to be rectified and which things I would learn to live with. Her fast turn around for decisions and designs was much appreciated. All these things made it so much easier for both myself and my builder.
We have now moved back into our mostly finished house and daily I see that everything Julie has touched is wonderful. She balanced my desire for timeless colours and styles (yes I was a nervous Nellie!) with the need to make the occasional statement and I look forward to the day when my budget allows to me to enlist Julie's help to really 'furnish' our house the way I would like.
As you can tell I believe it is a privilege to work with such a skilled designer. Julie is also the nicest person to deal with - she has supported me when I lost confidence, reminded me to laugh and reassured me that it may all be finished one day!
From my first phone call I knew I was in safe hands and that your efficient organisation would be able to support me in my build. You said you had a wonderful designer who was just right for my situation and this was so true. I am very appreciative.
